Pioneer has been a known brand for many years being popular for the many speakers and stereo
systems that they released in the past. Now, they continue to be good manufacturer for modern consumer
electronics and professional DJ equipment as well. On the consumer end, Pioneer is taking on all of the other
manufacturers that specialize in making A/V receivers with the Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K receiver. Compared to the
other VSX models, the 1019AH-K carries the most features, but still stands affordable.
Advantages
The Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K brings a lot of technologies to the table including solid HDMI video technologies like
Deep Color and x.v.Color which both take good advantage of the latest HDTVs when connected via HDMI. This allows
Blu-ray disc players to perform their best while any DVDs being played looking even better as the DVD visuals can
be upscaled to the full 1080p resolution.
Like other Pioneer sound products, the VSX-1019AH-K has a built-in amplifier that can
deliver 120 watts of power directly to all seven channels. Like other receivers, the 1019AH-K fully supports Dolby
TrueHD and DTS-HD, but a format that isn't seen very much on competing devices is the support for Neural-THX
Surround. Advanced users get some advantages too as they can fine-tune the sound at any moment using various
controls including the Phase Control, Symmetric EQ Standing Wave Control, and Acoustic Calibration.
iPhone users will be very happy to know that there is full support for the device along with the IPod and
various other Windows Mobile devices. All of the iPhone features integrate very well with the receiver including
the calling, movie, and photo features. Connectivity is very simple requiring the iPhone to be connected via USB
which doubles as a charger. Files stored in the iPhone sound even better as the receiver attempts to find lost
compression data to improve sound quality.
With many connections available including 2 component inputs and 4 HDMI inputs, multiple sources can be routed
allowing Blu-ray to content to be played back while others enjoy listening to portable music all through the same
receiver.
Disadvantages
There aren't many disadvantages to this feature-rich and affordable device. Some of the advanced controls can be
confusing to use and the confusing manual doesn't help either. Other than that, the Pioneer VSX-1019AH is one of the best AV receivers out there.

is also a good feature to take advantage of when setting up systems through analog. As the 1019AH-K is the only VSX
